Chris Oatley's ArtCast

I had the honor of being a guest on the latest episode of Chris Oatley's ArtCast. It's about an hour long and I talk about my projects and processes and a million other things. Here's the podcast link, or you can find it on iTunes.

I must apologize for my endless rambling in the interview... I always get nervous doing these things, plus I think he caught me in an extra chatty mood that day. So be warned. My ancient wisdom might lull you to sleep.

But Chris is a great interviewer and a super nice guy (and supremely talented!) -- it was a lot of fun being on the show. All of you should check out his past episodes, as well as his site: ChrisOatley.com.

I finally listened to it. The thought of it being an hour was very daunting but I'm glad I finally listened to it.

I have many suggestions for the podcast itself and may go to Chris Oatleys' site just to offer my thoughts. Course this is probably only time I would listen to it, so they probably don't wanna hear from the likes of people like me.

Thoughts:
1)GRANT GET A TABLET! Hard. Head.

2) You make references to D&D a lot and I was curious if you have played 4th Edition and what you think of the artists that are currently working on Dungeons and Dragons. I started playing back in 2nd Ed. and have made the transition over to 4th. I know a lot of the old time DnD boys that are sticking with 3.5 though, so am just curious.

3) I don't think you rambled at all and actually I am glad that you talked as much as you did. Some of the questions in the beginning were kinda weak (IMO), but you some how took that question and turned it into useful information that I am sure anyone listening to the webcast was glad to know. I am surprised where some of the answers ended up where they did, without much help. The part where you were discussing the mood of coloring was the only part where I thought you went on. I think it's because you were having problems portraying your thoughts, but we got it :)

4) I got to check out a lot of other artists works because of the names you mentioned. Some great artists were mentioned. Thanks!

5) My favorite part of the entire interview is when you stated in the future you were thinking of trying to create your own RPG. FARKIN AWESOME! I am a gaming junky. You name it and I have probably played it (most non electronic gaming that is). Be it a RPG, a TCG, miniature game, or board game. You need a test monkey when you get to that point or want to bounce ideas off of someone, I am there. I would be honored to hear the ideas or even help if possible.

Thanks for doing the interview. Was an hour well spent.

Heyya, Brodee --

**I was curious if you have played 4th Edition**

I've played it a little bit, yeah. Honestly, I'm not in love with it. I still kind of like the older stuff more (both in terms of rules and artwork). But I'm still giving it a chance.

Cool :) Yeah, it's something I want to do sometime for sure.. It's just a matter of finding enough spare time to work on it. Hopefully later this year. I guess we shall seeeeee.
