Up(date)

I'm finally done moving! whoo :) I'm gonna take a couple days to relax and settle in, and then I'll get back into work mode. Thanks again to everyone who's been patient with commissions, emails, etc.

I also have to mention that I saw the movie Up and it's amazing. I didn't really go into it with huge expectations, but, man, it really is a near-perfect movie. I highly recommend everyone go see it. You'll laugh, you'll cry. The critics are absolutely right about this one.

I'll be back soon with ART!

Finally! Went to go see Up yesterday and I was not disappointed. I loved it. Was a wonderful piece.

My only complaint is that I don't believe it is really a kids movie.

My daughter has sat through other movies at the theater like "Bolt" and "Wall-E" (she didn't get the true message behind Wall-E but still really loved the movie). She is 4 and a half and "Up" was completely lost on her. The only parts she liked were the parts that I thought detracted from the movie. There was A LOT of emotion behind aspects of this movie that I believe is completely lost on younger kids. The strong emotions are the driving force of what makes this movie so good.

She will appreciate it when she is older, but it will be a long time before it falls into the Toy Story or Monsters Inc area of her collection.

I think it's the first kids movie that really is for adults that hate kids movie.

Thanks for the suggestion Grant!
