Clone Wars webcomic coverage

Electric Playground interviewed Tom Hodges to talk about the Clone Wars webcomic -- they show a nice sampling of our pages. Here's the link!

Galaxy 5 is awaayyy

Star Wars Galaxy 5 is now in stores!

You may remember I posted my Ah-snow-ka base card a few weeks ago. Well, here's a look at my Anakin vs. Asajj card, depicting the infamous battle where she gives him the scar on his face (you can read all about it in the Dark Horse comic Star Wars: Republic #71). I didn't want to copy what's seen in the comic, so I designed a new look for Anakin. In the comic, he has a very Revenge of the Sith look, but now that we know what he looks like in the new Clone Wars cartoon, I thought it'd be more appropriate to come up with how he might've looked between Attack of the Clones and the Clone Wars cartoon - sort of a bridging design to match up with the timeline. So even though it borrows elements from various movies/shows, this is an ALL-NEW Anakin! heh :)

C2E2

My first convention of 2010 will be the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2.com), which is taking place April 16th-18th at McCormick Place in the Windy City. This is the show's FIRST year, and it promises to be huge! If you haven't bought tickets yet, you can find info here. They've updated their special guest and artist alley lists, too. Lots of great names, and a bunch of talented friends of mine -- I'm really looking forward to it.

More info to come as the date draws nearer. I just wanted to make sure it was on everyone's radar. :)

Quick Update

Hey, folks - Sorry for the silent treatment. These past two weeks I've been at warehouse training for my new second job. And then every night I've had to come home and work on Lucasfilm pages, and then I literally pass out (my body's still in shock - it's not used to all this exercise! :P). So I just haven't had any time. Fortunately my training will be over in a couple days and I'll be able to get back to mailing stuff off, responding to emails, continuing commissions, etc. So, yes, I'm alive! Thanks for being patient. :)

Sketchbooks are here!

My January batch of sketchbooks finally arrived, and they look great -- I'm really happy with how they turned out (and I think you will be too)! :)

So those of you who ordered a copy in January, I'll be mailing your order off ASAP - shouldn't be more than a week or two.

February orders will most likely ship in early March. If you haven't grabbed the book yet, click here for ordering info -- the sooner you order, the sooner you'll get your copy.

Thanks, everyone!

Misc. Update

I'm gonna try my best not to make this a "woe is me" type of update, because nobody wants to hear that. You come here for nerdy art goodness!! :)

Anyway, here's what's new in Grant World:

I had to take on a second job -- a part time warehouse job. So that's obviously going to take away from some of my freelance time. Hopefully it won't make too huge of an impact.

I'm seriously backed-up on emails. Trying my best to respond to a few each day.

A lot of people have been emailing me about 2010 sketchbooks and my "Wolves of Odin" webcomic. The first round of sketchbooks (ie. the ones ordered in January) have been printed and are on their way to me. I couldn't afford to have them rush-delivered, so I'm at the mercy of USPS Ground. They should be at my door any day now - as soon as I have 'em, I'll start sending them off. As for the WoO webcomic, well, don't hold your breath -- I'm putting it on hold. I need to focus on other things right now. Maybe/hopefully I'll get back to WoO later this year, and can shoot for a printed Book Two in 2011. We'll have to see how this year plays out.

So, yeah... February is going to have to be about me trying to re-organize, de-stress, and just try to get my life back in order. And that includes catching up on commissions, as always. I haven't forgotten about any of you.

Also: I've added my 2010 Convention Schedule to the right side of my website. (Star Wars Celebration isn't 100% set in stone, as I haven't received an official invite yet - but I'm hoping to be there.). As you can see, my first show of the year will be April's new Chicago convention C2E2.

Thanks for stickin' with me, everyone. It's been a tough few months and I can't really blame anyone but myself for not being able to stay on top of things. Hopefully Grant World will be a sunnier, happier place in the very near future.

Man of Faith

Took a few hours to draw this new LOST fan art pic of Locke, one of my favorite characters of the series. Final season starts this week! WUUURRRD.

Okay, back to work.
