It's my first ever drawing video! Thought it was about time to test out my camera, etc. Forgive me for the amateur quality, I'm still getting a feel for this webcam/artcast stuff, learnin' as I go. :)
I've been trying to catch up on things, but there will definitely be more videos in the future -- both in this format, and hopefully at some point I'll also get set up on Ustream or something similar and record some live shows. Anyway, more on that later. Thanks for watching!
I was one of those artistic types in high school who had a certain skill at drawing comic book characters but unfortunately never pursued it. But even on my best days I couldn't lay down something in permanent marker without sketching the entire thing in exacting detail in pencil first.
You draw with smooth confidence. I love this kind of stuff.
Next I think we'd like to see your process for doing fully colored ones like your Future Ahsoka.
Awesome Grant, keep doing these because they are very entertaining and we get to see your masterpieces being molded into shape! Cant wait to see the next one
I'm not too picky about my pencils -- honestly, I just buy whatever's cheap. I think the last batch I bought were some red & blue colored pencils at Blick art supply (they're the Blick brand ones). I sometimes get the Faber-Castell ones, too.
Thanks for the help. I have gotten back into art about a year and a half ago. So much has changed since I stopped. I just like the softer lead colored pencils. Blick one are pretty good to be honest. I'm a huge Faber fan, so maybe I will give those a try.
Thanks again for your help man. Keep up the great work. I'm a huge fan!

I've found if you have a macro setting on your camera the video quality turns out better. (less blurr and more crisp lines).
Grant,
Just curious what pencils you use to lay out. This one was a red, the Wolverine was a blue.
I use the Col-Erase from Prisma-Color, they are ok, looking for something with a softer lead.
Thanks
Blake
